Peter - In my part of the world, there are a lot of walnut trees. This results in lots of nut hulls. Ground up hulls are used regularly by rockhounds to polish gems and by shooters who reload and want to clean and polish their spent shells before reloading. Years ago they were regularly used to remove rust deposits and polish the inside of tanks prior to coating with a commercial tank coating. Somehow its just fallen off the screen.
